Cutting Your Own Christmas Tree with Toddlers

This is a new tradition we started after a friend gave us a tip about a local forest where you can cut your own Christmas tree. We pack sausages to grill over the fire and head off on the bikes through the forest.

Our rule is that the tree has to be taller than our tallest child but at the same time it can’t be too big to get home on the back of the bike trailer. These photos are from when Henry was almost two and a half and Oliver almost four and a half. Henry was fascinated by the concept of too small and too big and would point to each tiny little tree and say “too small”.
